La Ventana · Baja California Sur · Mexico
Six full days on the Sea of Cortez chasing the rarest encounter on the ocean — wild orcas and vortexes of mobula rays — guided by the scout network that found orcas 14 of 16 weeks last season.
Why Orca Swims Baja
You won't find a better company to do this expedition with — period.
We put our full heart and soul into finding orcas — like no other company on this ocean. Our scout network sweeps hundreds of square miles daily so your boat is where they are.
7–12 hours out at sea — no half-day tours. When the action is there, we go hard and stay with it.
Every boat runs with over 400 liters of fuel — the range to reach distant sightings and stay with the action while other operators turn back.
Expectations — What the Data Says
We log every single sea day — and season after season, the data says the same thing: expect to get in the water with orcas about once a week. Sometimes more. Sometimes less. That's the truth, and no operator on this ocean can honestly promise you better.
Sometimes the ocean gives nothing. It's rare — but it's real, and we won't pretend otherwise.
One in-water orca encounter over six sea days — the honest average across two logged seasons.
Five orca days in a single week (Jun 1–7, 2025). When it's on, it's unforgettable.
And the days between orca? They're why they call it the World's Aquarium: mobula tornadoes, 500+ pilot whale superpods, 40 sperm whales in a day, 35-foot whale sharks, false killer whales, and blue whales. In 2025, 99% of our sea days delivered sightings. We log every day — the epic ones and the quiet ones alike.
Beyond the Orca
Every day between orca encounters, the Sea of Cortez puts on a show of its own. All of this comes straight from our daily logs — seen by our guests.
2027 & 2028 Expeditions
Every expedition: 7 nights, 6 full sea days, expert local guides, and beachfront luxury between swims. The difference is group size — fewer guests on the boat means more room in the water, and that's what sets the price.
